2KAN has developed an open-source implementation of JPEG 2000 Part 9 (JPIP). The following downloads are available:

• an overview document covering JPEG 2000, JPIP and the 2KAN implementation
• an integrated software demo for Linux (requires libcurl and Java)
• live source code for the various software modules, from the CVS repositories at J2G.org (proxy module) and UCL (other modules)

Continued development of the JPIP implementation as an open-source community project is planned. If you would like to participate, please contact the CVS administrator at J2G.org.

An online demonstrator has also been developed within the 2KAN project, in order to test several JPEG 2000 encoders. This demonstrator is available at Alinari.
